Took a chance on this and glad I did. Challenging in places, but never needlessly obscure. It rewards patience more than any book I've bought this year. Some archaic spellings slow things down. Good, with the caveats above.
Bought this as a gift for my sister and ended up ordering a second copy for myself. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. Definitely recommend.
This exceeded my expectations. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Still worth having on the shelf.
Came across this title in a footnote and had to track it down. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. Already eyeing my next order.
