Ordered this after seeing it referenced in another book I was studying. It rewards patience more than any book I've bought this year. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Solid, if not essential.
Perfect companion for my morning study sessions. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text.
I've read excerpts online before, but having the full text is different. A text you study rather than simply read. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. A keeper.
Took a chance on this and glad I did. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. Good, with the caveats above.
