Exactly what I was looking for. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. The font runs small in the appendices. Recommended with reservations.
My third book from this store and this one might be the best. A text you study rather than simply read. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Still worth having on the shelf.
Bought this as a gift for my sister and ended up ordering a second copy for myself. The text itself is dense but rewarding — you get out what you put in. Solid binding, decent paper — holds up to heavy use.
