Added this to my reference shelf. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. Every rereading turns up something I missed. My only quibble is the cover feels thinner than expected. Good, with the caveats above.
Ordered this after seeing it referenced in another book I was studying. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. It rewards patience more than any book I've bought this year. One of my better finds this year.
I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. The font runs small in the appendices. Still worth having on the shelf.
