This exceeded my expectations. Not a light read, but far more accessible than I feared. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. If you're drawn to this subject, don't hesitate.
Long-time student of the esoteric here. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text. Recommended with reservations.
Added this to my reference shelf. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. The ideas are old but land with surprising force today. Great value for what you get.
Honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm impressed. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. Still worth having on the shelf.
Was skeptical at first. The symbolism is layered and generous to patient readers. Five stars from me.
