First purchase from this shop. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. Some archaic spellings slow things down. Still worth having on the shelf.
I've read excerpts online before, but having the full text is different. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text. Recommended with reservations.
Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
Took a chance on this and glad I did. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. The font runs small in the appendices. Happy enough with the purchase.
