Was skeptical at first. Every rereading turns up something I missed. Good, with the caveats above.
As someone who reads a lot in this field, I can be picky. Not a light read, but far more accessible than I feared. Well worth it.
I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. Some sections stopped me cold in the best way. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text. Still worth having on the shelf.
Exactly what I was looking for. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. Some archaic spellings slow things down.
