Finally got around to ordering this. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. The symbolism is layered and generous to patient readers. Still worth having on the shelf.

I collect works on this subject and this is a worthy addition. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. One of my better finds this year.
Was skeptical at first. The typesetting is comfortable for study, with good margins for notes. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. My only quibble is the cover feels thinner than expected. Still worth having on the shelf.
