As someone who reads a lot in this field, I can be picky. Solid binding, decent paper — holds up to heavy use. Some sections stopped me cold in the best way. If you're drawn to this subject, don't hesitate.
My third book from this store and this one might be the best. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Recommended with reservations.

Ordered this after seeing it referenced in another book I was studying. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point. Five stars from me.
A friend in my study group recommended this one. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. A text you study rather than simply read. A keeper.
