I keep coming back to this one. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. The text itself is dense but rewarding — you get out what you put in. A keeper.
Came across this title in a footnote and had to track it down. A text you study rather than simply read. One of my better finds this year.
I keep coming back to this one. There's real depth here that reveals itself on a second reading. Some chapters demand a slow, careful read, and that's exactly the point.
Exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. The font runs small in the appendices. Still worth having on the shelf.
This edition finally does the material justice. Every rereading turns up something I missed. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. A few pages arrived with light corner wear, though nothing serious. Solid, if not essential.
