Long-time student of the esoteric here. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. It assumes more background than a beginner might have. Good, with the caveats above.
Perfect companion for my morning study sessions. The symbolism is layered and generous to patient readers. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text. Still worth having on the shelf.
Honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm impressed. It rewards patience more than any book I've bought this year. The historical context alone makes it worth the price. Some archaic spellings slow things down.
My book club chose this last month. It reads better in small doses — a chapter at a time with notes. It connects ideas I'd only seen treated separately elsewhere. One of my better finds this year.
Honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm impressed. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages.
