Grabbed this during a weekend order. Challenging in places, but never needlessly obscure. The text itself is dense but rewarding — you get out what you put in. Deserves a place on any esoteric bookshelf.
This has been on my wishlist for months. The language takes some getting used to, but it becomes part of the charm. A text you study rather than simply read. My only quibble is the cover feels thinner than expected.
Bought this as a gift for my sister and ended up ordering a second copy for myself. Plenty of passages worth underlining; my copy is already full of margin notes. Shipping was quick too.
My book club chose this last month. I found myself reading passages aloud just to sit with them. Still worth having on the shelf.
Honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm impressed. I appreciated how the argument builds steadily from first principles. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. I'd have loved an index, but that's on the original text.
Not my usual area but wanted to branch out. The material is presented clearly and the structure makes it easy to revisit key passages. The font runs small in the appendices. Good, with the caveats above.
Was skeptical at first. Challenging in places, but never needlessly obscure. It pairs well with more modern commentaries on the same tradition. Shipping was quick too.
